As reported by Deadline, the star is the first actor to be cast in the prequel to the hit Netflix show, which was first announced last year.
According to the publication “Turner-Smith will play Éile, an elite warrior blessed with the voice of a goddess, who has left her clan and position as Queen’s guardian to follow her heart as a nomadic musician.”
The Witcher prequel, Blood Origin, will be a six part series from Declan de Barra and The Witcher showrunner, Lauren S. Hissrich.
Netflix released the show’s description last year, stating: “1200 years before Geralt of Rivia, the worlds of monsters, men and elves merged into one, and the first Witcher came to be. Announcing The Witcher: Blood Origin, a 6 part live-action The Witcher spin-off series from Declan de Barra and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.”

Announcing The Witcher: Blood Origin, a 6 part live-action The Witcher spin-off series from Declan de Barra and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.
The Witcher: Blood Origin has yet to get a release date, but – pandemic permitting – we’re hopefully looking to see it begin and end production sometime this year. We could be looking at a 2022 release date, with a little luck!
Are you looking forward to seeing The Witcher: Blood Origin, and are you pleased to see the cast of the prequel finally being named?
